Where did we come from?

I’m so excited to launch our new online store! It’s been a wonderfully winding road to get here.

Art has always been a part of my life, but I initially dreamed of a career in science. I pursued a traditional path, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Zoology and a Master’s degree in Physiology. During my undergraduate years, I considered becoming a vet, genetic counselor, doctor, or completely unrelated, a Marine Officer. However, I eventually explored careers like physical therapy and personal training. With a second degree, options like a PhD, college professor, or biomedical engineer came into play.

Throughout this journey, my side hobbies evolved. During my first post-grad job, I wrote fiction at night. In my second job, I started freelancing as a web developer. Now, in my current job, I’ve embraced digital art.

Currently, I work with my spouse on several businesses, primarily focusing on our scuba shop, but also managing a scuba service center and swim school. And Argiope Studio was born in this side space. Named after the writing spiders known for their intricate web designs, it honors my zoology background while celebrating my new loves.

Argiope's primary focus is selling digital art, while still showcasing my other crafts like writing and web development, as our namesake would suggest. So, while you might have seen us on Etsy before, we’re putting all those skills to the test and taking the leap into our own web space!
